The Purpose of the Department

Among the objectives of the department are to offer an academic program that has caught up with the requirements of the age and adapted itself to change; to train future public relations experts who have adopted moral values, possess problem-solving and quick-thinking abilities, can adapt to the conditions they are in, make timely decisions and implement these decisions correctly, can use new technologies, have advanced communication skills, and specialize in fields such as advertising, new media, marketing, sales, human resources, and finance; to train experts with a strong theoretical background in the field of public relations and who can transfer this theoretical background into practice; to train qualified personnel sought by the business world; to train individuals who ponder various problems on a global, national, and regional scale, can develop solutions for these, and can contribute to social development.

Vision, Mission, and Values of the Department

VISION: To be a pioneering department recognized for its academic and sectoral success at national and international levels; transforming the knowledge it produces into societal and institutional value through stakeholder collaborations, and training innovative and entrepreneurial communication professionals.

 

MISSION: To train communication professionals equipped with the communication competencies required by the era, committed to ethical values, capable of analytical thinking, and able to effectively use digital communication tools, with an entrepreneurial spirit and a sense of social responsibility; to contribute to institutional and societal development at regional and national levels with the knowledge and projects produced.

Program Information

The Public Relations and Publicity Department was established within the Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Bucak Faculty of Business Administration. It started undergraduate education in the 2019-2020 Academic Year Fall Semester. The duration of education is 4 years. There is no preparatory class.

The interdisciplinary structure of the Public Relations and Publicity Department facilitates its graduates to direct themselves to many fields and makes it easier for employers to prefer this department.
